Follow the Sun
Sun
Chase the fading light
Follow the Sun
Sun
Into the swirling night
Tomorrow can be kind, an opening door
Welcoming and mild, so much worth fighting for
Hidden in den, in realms of dream
Each dead minute, into time's maw
Rising from slumber, a crumbling automaton
Turns to the dawn and follows the Sun
As the night ends
First rays pierce a beautiful sky
Evaporating morning mist
A gentle blur of pink heralds the Sun
With souls aflame the choir starts to sing a desperate refrain
“May we feel the kiss of a new day?”

Just as the glaciers ground paths to the sea
We feel the burden of urge burn tracks through the stone
So too we travel
And our weary eyes meet the horizon
And each new footfall carves a way home
Each feather arcs cloud-ways, linking the air
And under the skies, a mirror of glass
From isle to isle, reflects exodus
Coalesce, a sense of being
Millenia of movement led to this network of ways lain into Her flesh
Mass migration churns genes and memories
Across these fields, imprints of gods and ghosts
A base freedom, wandering forever
Preserved in time, existence remembers their grace

A Stem's Embrace
09:09
|
|||
I caught a glimpse
Trees where there were none
A hidden forest
Waiting by the boundary
Inhabiting liminal space
Connected, root to bone
Close to the edge
My flowers grow
And sinews twine like a stem’s embrace
Wood faced symbiont
Dryad, my guardian
I caught a glimpse
Trees where there were none
A hidden forest
Waiting by the boundary
Roots reach flesh over the multiplex
Cambium, caressing skin
Leaching soul back to the heart
Quick as it came the leaves dissipate
In ruins of mirage, a single seed clings to life
-Grieve
-
Terrified we too will fade
But to undo our art and forsake our days?
With our last poison breath as green withers we say
We didn’t want to survive anyway
Nothing is left to grieve
Nothing

No Sun, No Moon

No Sun
No Moon
Just stars
And a haunting cry
Peals from afar
Who will miss us when we’re gone?
A half heard conversation
A lonely curlew calls
Somewhere in sea mist
Echoed by lonely hearts
Night sky
Shimmering pools of sea
Torn by tides
On a wave-inked page
Alone in time and grey
Two bodies, still and embraced
Still skies merge with sand
And sand with the sky
Silent tension of water and aeons
Who will miss us when we’re gone?
Lines subtle on the page
March toward white margins
Across the beige expanse
Who will miss us when we’re gone?
